The Problem
Carbon credits don't exist in a regulatory vacuum. A project's value is increasingly determined by the host country's policy stance — whether it has Article 6 bilateral agreements, imposes export restrictions, participates in CORSIA, or has domestic carbon pricing that competes with voluntary markets. This information is scattered across government gazettes, UNFCCC submissions, bilateral treaty databases, and news reports in dozens of languages. No single human analyst can track 150+ countries weekly.
How It Works
Country-Level Scanning
Each of the 150+ countries is analyzed through 5 specialized prompts: Article 6 bilateral agreements and ITMOs, CORSIA aviation offsetting participation, carbon pricing mechanisms (ETS and carbon taxes), VCM regulatory developments, and a combined synthesis prompt. Each prompt includes the country's existing policy baseline to avoid redundant or outdated findings.
Embedded Ground Truth
Unlike generic AI analysis, each prompt includes verified baseline data embedded directly in the prompt context: the ICAO CORSIA 6th Edition list of 130 participating states, the Article 6 Implementation Status Report (A6ISR) FY2024 with all known bilateral agreements, and the World Bank Carbon Pricing Dashboard with current ETS and carbon tax rates. The AI builds on top of these verified baselines rather than starting from scratch.
Policy Profile Assembly
Scan results are merged into structured country profiles with fields for Article 6 status (active, pipeline, none), CORSIA phase, carbon pricing mechanisms, VCM regulatory stance, and notable policy developments with source citations.

Technical Details
AI Engine
Same proprietary AI with live web search grounding used across the platform. Each country receives multiple dedicated analysis passes covering all policy dimensions.
Processing Pipeline
Every Thursday, all countries are scanned in parallel, merged into structured profiles, and delivered to the platform — available by Friday.
Policy Classification
Article 6 status is classified into three tiers: Active (signed bilateral agreements with at least one counterparty), Pipeline (MOUs or negotiations announced but not finalized), and None (no public Article 6 engagement). CORSIA eligibility reflects the ICAO TAB-approved list of eligible programs and participating states.
Quality & Accuracy
- Ground truth baselines embedded in every prompt prevent the AI from contradicting verified international databases
- Weekly updates ensure policy changes are captured within days, not months
- Source citations included for every policy finding — users can verify claims directly
- Historical policy timeline preserved for each country, showing how regulatory stance has evolved
Update Frequency
Every Thursday, with results available by Friday. Country profiles show the full history of policy changes.
